About Us

Wax + Wine began as a dream for father-son team, Alan + Jordan Beletz, who wanted to create a unique opportunity for people to connect with one another through creativity + conversation.

Our team have created a stunning studio space in Old City, Philadelphia where guests can gather with friends + create a beautiful product of their own while learning the artisan craft of candle making.

At Wax + Wine, we want to create experiences that Lighten Up Life! Whether it be through loose instruction reservations or while hosting a private event, we strive to help guests escape from the routine of the week and unlock their creativity!

FAQs

DEPOSIT + PAYMENT DETAILS
  • A $50 deposit for parties of 1 – 8 people and a $250 deposit for parties of 9 – 15 is due when the reservation is booked.
  • The deposit is applied to the final bill paid at the end of your experience.

Deposits are not refundable in the case of a cancellation, but we are happy to help you reschedule and can apply your deposit to a future visit. If plans change, call the store or send an email to hello@waxandwine.com.

Light decorations are welcome, but excessive or messy decorations such as glitter or confetti, or anything taped or tacked to the walls are not permitted.

There is a parking garage at 231 N 2nd Street,Philadelphia, PA 19106, which is a 4 minute walk from the store. feel free to unload in front of the store before parking.

Yes! we do have a wine shop onsite. [see event pdf for pricing] Wine can be purchased in advance or a la carte on the day of the event.

Yes! you may bring outside food, but please limit selection to light snacks + no sternos. we also have an excellent catering partner + are happy to assist with placing your order.

Yes! our candle making experiences are great for kids + adults. adult chaperones are required + event minimums apply.

I’ve always wanted to do a wax and wine because of my love for candles and of course wine. I would most definitely recommend Mia as an instructor, but I’m sure everyone is great. It was my first time and I feel like I learned a ton about candles and how they’re made. There were walls full of candles with different aromas, ex: a fruit smelling wall, flower, sweet, spring collection, etc. The music playlist was great and the experience was amazing. I loved the scenery of the place and how patient Mia was with my group. I’ll definitely be returning to make more candles in the near future! This is a great date night idea or a fun place to go with even your friends or family.

My friends and I had an amazing time here on Thursday night! The ambiance was so cozy and classic. The instructions were very clear and it was overall a good time. Perfect date night idea. It’s harder than I would have imagined mixing 2 different scents but you can just make the candle with a single oil, which was helpful for my suboptimal olfactory skills. My wife loved the place, atmosphere and activity. Definitely worth doing at least once. And don’t forget to bring your wine bottle! Although if you forget they got your back a decent selection of wines.

They were short staffed when we went on 2/18, but Jordan and our guide did their best to accommodate us and help the best they could!

We did have some pretty long wait times, but overall this was a lovely experience. I’d recommend bringing your own drinks as there wasn’t much help at the bar.
The scents were delicious and instructions clear.

A little overpriced but fun if you want someone to do with visitors or a group of girls coming to philly
