Hawaii's Modern U.S. Registered Mail Handstamps (1900-1953) Paperback – February 11, 2026

Registered mail service between Hawaii and the mainland United States allows a sender the opportunity to have proof of mail received by the addressee via a receipt. This is an additional service provided by the post office to offer greater security for mail, proof of chain of custody, or even proof of delivery. As part of registered mail processing, the post office not only handstamps mail with a "registered" handstamp and unique assigned number, but they also add a postmark during each step of the delivery. The same action takes place when transferring registered mail from one post office to another. In this book, varieties of registered handstamps are provided, including differences in font types and sizes, date variations, handstamp colors, and orientations.
